Who would be interested in a Kate Heightmeyer centered ficathon-thing?

Fic-exchange - personally I'm a favorite of that, like rarepairings.

Fic-battle - maybe? What's that? *blush* Wait, is that lots of prompts and a sort of all-you-can-write thing?

Yeah, a fic battle is the lots of prompts and then the all-you-can-write thing. :) We ran one of those in rarepairings in, um, March, I think? But yes! I'll help. It's fun!

I would definitely like to participate, but my preference is for a 'fest rather than a gift exchange type ficathon. That way, people who don't write can be involved by leaving prompts and writers are writing only for themselves and not for someone else. :)

That is a good point. And also, then you don't need to fear getting a really bad author assigned to you and having to pretend you liked something that's just atrociously written.

I voted for fest/fic battle because I think it will bring more participation than an exchange for ficathon that's drawing on a relatively small pool of writers.

Plus with a fic battle, you don't have to have a minimum fic length like you need in a fic exchange, so you're more likely to get more people participating who can write a drabble or ficlet as inspiration strikes but wouldn't be prepared to commit to a longer story that has to be delivered by a certain deadline.

Plus being much less stressful to run for you.... *g*

Thinking about it, I also really like what they do with femgenficathon, where you pick a number and get assigned a quote that you can use as inspiration (or not) for your story. Not sure how that might work for a Kate ficathon, but it's a nice format.
