Have you seen the extra boxes when commenting?
I didn't notice at first until I wanted to hit comment and noticed the Twitter and FB-logo. I was like, "Hey, what are these two doing here?"... now I know. Apparently LJ considered it a cool feature to have people crosspost to these places, with no opt-out... but one has to connect their accounts so that's not going to happen.
HEY!! DO NOT FRAKKIN' WANT!!
So, I respectfully ask anyone and everyone to NOT crosspost to Twitter or FB, thank you!
I have a FB where I am a farmer in Farmville (and I really like the farming) but my family and friends are also on there, and while some know, others don't know half the stuff I'm doing during my online time - including the fact that I'm gay (my family is not in the know about this little tidbit in my life).
Many thanks for respecting my wishes. And DW has never looked this inviting before... and I'm already a member.

What has the / done to LJ to deserve that sort of treatment? More LJ fail at play.

Date: 2010-09-01 06:41 pm (UTC)And I searched through all settings and FAQ, there's no way to disable it! WTF!
I have FB and TW accounts and I don't want to crosspost my comments and I even don't want to crosspost my stuff elsewhere.
You have my word, I'll never use that feature.
BTW, what do you mean for DW?

Date: 2010-09-01 06:44 pm (UTC)DW = Dreamwidth (http://www.dreamwidth.org/)
A journal site like LJ but less fail is involved. I have invite codes if you wish to become a member (many invite codes actually).

Date: 2010-09-02 03:23 pm (UTC)And if you connect the accounts, you can still say you don't want cross-posting as a default setting. Go to Profile -> Settings -> Extensions to uncheck that option.
