Did I do that?

So, it's been a while since I posted any new update on what's going on in my daily life, and boy, have I got stuff to tell you... =P
The most exciting thing, I guess, you could say is that I got into some trouble with Stargate Command. Yes, the website set up by MGM to lure stargate fans back in and then surprise them with a geolock or 20 dollar worth of streaming services, new interviews and of course that new Origins story. I'm part of the geolocked crowd (though that was no surprise to me since I had been following and guessing that exact thing from the start).
However, apparently all-access members (well, some of them anyway) didn't appreciate that I pointed out the utterly unfair situation (might have used some colorful language in my frustration -- for which I did apologize to the team) on more than one occasion, and hence I got a modly slap from the Command team -- like a personal email telling me to keep it down (or else...).
I thought, well that's the end of my shortlived membership at Command, but nope... the other side started up a friendly conversation with me, and polite as I am, I went along with the dialogue, which as a matter of fact, might actually lead to a voluntary deeper involvement with Command. (I guess, they are trying to get back on my good side -- it might be working)
Anyhow, there are still trolls downvoting my every post so I'm definitely not the most favored falcon on the message feed but ah well... =P ...can't please them all.
Anyway... the website/app has been loosing interest cause there is far less activity there now as there used to be when the webseries was airing and spoilers were free for all. I put all the spoilertrolls on ignore and blocked all images of the website (cause they apparently couldn't follow their own spoiler-free rules).
The next thing to happen is that I missed two lessons in my 3D course and this means I have no clue how splines are supposed to work, and how in any gods' or goddess' name I'm going to pull the musical instrument project. I already have a musical instrument in mind, so that's a good thing. It's a violin. Also found an excellent front-side image I can use as example. The other project I'm behind on, is a breakfast table which actually just too boring for my taste, but oh well. I could probably pull it off in a timely fashion. That is, if I get a license in time to re-activate my Cinema 4D cause my demo-version expired so I can't save any of my trial-projects any more. Makes it difficult to get started on anything. =P
My other course, Arduino, is disappointing at best. I certainly had different expectations about it, and they are sadly not met. I was hoping I would learn to build a set-up and perhaps integrate it into another build, like make a connection to remote-controlled car and create your own. I wanted to use the Arduino set-up for my prop-builds. But he's too technical and too much focus on programming the code. Probably gonna do a thermometer/humidity project (but I might do a side project with a moodlight and moodsounds -- using my BB-8 soft nightlight plushy as example).
...and I booked my first vacation of the year, to Fuertaventura at the end of May.
But first, I'll be meeting none other than Gillian Anderson next weekend, at FACTS convention in Ghent, Cobie Smulders, Emilie de Ravin and Isaac Hempstead-Wright. I've spent close to 200 euros and haven't even bought anything yet. Hoping to locate the American Mythology SGA comics (but that's doubtful) and I'll probably come home with another boardgame. There's always one that'll get my attention and won't let go until I bought it. Though, I would love to buy a small 3D printer instead (though probably way too expensive).
Anyhow, exciting times ahead.

Date: 2018-04-02 09:15 pm (UTC)Good luck with the Stargate crowd.
By the way, by coincidence, I had a 2-hour, 1-time, "Introduction to 3D Printing" class one evening last week. (I purchased the admission at a charity auction in December.) The class was fascinating! But I have too little time to go around, so won't be following it up at this time.
